This week on the podcast, I’m sharing some simple weight loss tips that are basically guaranteed to work. This is something that I don’t really do that often on this podcast. I’m not a big tips kind of guy, but today I want to share with you some simple weight loss tips that will help you if you just want to drop a few pounds or need to get rid of some weight pretty quick. These tips are simple to implement, so stay tuned.

Simple Weight Loss Tips That Work

Tip #1: Eat Every Meal Wearing Tight Pants and No Shirt

This one is a bit unconventional. Eat every meal wearing pants that are a size or two too small and no shirt. It might be socially awkward, so perhaps only do this at home. The tight pants will remind you of your goals and help you eat less, leading to weight loss over time.

Tip #2: Put a Mirror in Front of Your Eating Area

Place a mirror in front of your table or couch where you eat. Watching yourself eat can be a powerful deterrent from mindlessly consuming food. If you really want to ramp up the effect, combine this with tip #1: wear tight pants with no shirt and eat in front of the mirror.

Tip #3: Proclaim Your Intentions Out Loud

Before eating any food that’s not on your program, stand and proclaim out loud, “I’m eating this because I like not getting results.” This might feel silly, but it makes you conscious of your actions and their consequences, helping you stay on track.

Tip #4: Take Ipecac Before Eating Trigger Foods

This one is extreme and not recommended: before eating your top trigger foods (those you can’t control yourself around), take a dose of Ipecac, a medication that induces vomiting. The idea is that the unpleasant experience will deter you from wanting those foods again. However, this is more of a humorous suggestion than a serious one. Don’t actually do this!

I actually can’t stand weight loss tips. Tips and tricks don’t work in the long term because they don’t address the underlying issues that cause weight struggles. What we need is transformation, not tips.

Weight loss tips can be enticing because they seem like a quick fix. But if you’re struggling with weight, it’s not because you haven’t found the right tip yet. True, lasting change requires a deeper approach—guidance, coaching, a step-by-step plan, and addressing the underlying issues that cause self-doubt and self-sabotage.

Imagine trying to build your dream home by collecting scraps of wood and nails. It wouldn’t work. You need a plan, an expert builder, and a step-by-step process. The same goes for weight loss. Random tips are like those scraps of wood—they won’t help you build your dream body.

Why Do We Love Tips?

  1. It’s Fun to Search for Tips: Searching for answers is more enjoyable than putting them into action. Action requires moving outside your comfort zone and facing the fear of change.
  2. We Can Pick and Choose: We collect tips that fit easily into our lives and ignore the rest. This selective approach doesn’t lead to real change.
  3. No Commitment: Tips are non-committal and there’s no accountability. If they don’t work, it’s easy to dismiss them without feeling like a failure.

If tips haven’t worked for you, it’s time to take a new path. Commit to a structured plan and seek guidance if needed. Real transformation requires more than just collecting tips; it requires a commitment to change.

  1. Do you enjoy looking for and finding new tips?
  2. Are you falling victim to the tip mentality, believing that the right tips will eventually bring you success?
  3. Has the tip approach worked for you?

If the answer to the last question is no, it’s time to stop searching for tips and start seeking real transformation. Commit to a plan, seek guidance, and take action.
